Sharepoint Forms: FormPoint Designer

// January 28th, 2011 // Sharepoint

FormPoint is a simple form designer for SharePoint 2010 which allows everyday SharePoint users to create their own sleek and customized forms quickly and efficiently.

Designing forms can be a really costly process, the process of publishing forms, additional software and the lack of design interface for Sharepoint Foundation 2010 means you can spend hours without significant functional gain.

Using FormPoint’s intuitive interface,

  • read-only fields,
  • hidden fields,
  • hidden per sharepoint group,
  • masked inputs or
  • custom validation

is pretty easy.

FormPoint also has a theme gallery which allows users to download, install new themes and change the look and feel of their forms at a touch of a button. FormPoint also has support for custom fields, which means integrating google maps fields or using grids for expense claim or travel request forms is pretty simple. They incorporated a nice minimized “print feature” which removes most of the design and formatting for your paper records and tooltips for each of your form fields for any additional information you need to give your users.

FormPoint has just been released in beta and is available on a 30 day trial although prices start at $6/user/month
